Finally!...

Every morning, we awaken to the howlers (monkeys), but had yet to be able to find them. Today, they sounded so close, so on our daily morning walk to the beach, we finally say our first troop of them. They were growling loudly at the dogs who were jumping around like crazy, especially, of course, Lola. Lots of animal noises as the days pass. So happy to be here, hard to believe its not just a little vacation, I guess I haven't really landed mentally yet....but I'm enjoying the changes as they come along. The rainy season is over and its been beautiful every day. Miss you all!

Well half of us made it!!!

Indi and I arrived late last night to what hopefully will be one of the last thunderstorms for this rainy season. Annie and Lola were unable to fly on Tuesday because the weather in Maryland at 4am was only 40 degrees!!Too cold for the dog. They will take another stab at it on Thursday and Indi and I will be mourning the loss of Sharky's Bar due to an early morning fire. New house and everyone here has been great so far and can't wait for the arrival of the rest of the team!!! Pura Vida John and Annie

Day draws close!!

Final prep is in place--so much to do!! Think the dogs are ready to go--trip to Vet and USDA was pretty painless. Lots of last minute stuff--will all be worth it when we hear our first "Pura Vida" and feel that very warm sun.

The countdown begins!!!

Just 10 days until we leave for Costa Rica--packing is done for me and Annie is finishing --throwing out (donating) a lot of stuff i am finding I don't need.
